The Boys Are Back In Town

Grimsby Town pay their first visit to the 25,000-capacity ground this evening for Neil Mann's testimonial match.

Mann spent some time at Blundell Park as a reserve while his dad, Arthur Mann, was the Mariners' manager. He was later signed for City by Terry Dolan and spent ten years at Boothferry Park, but a succession of major injuries prompted him to hang up his boots last year.

However, he will pull on a City shirt for his swansong tonight after it was confirmed he will play the second half of the match.

But Andy Dawson (knee), Jason Price, Steve Burton (both groin), Stuart Elliott (illness) and John Anderson (foot) will all sit out of the match. However, there is hope that calf injury victims Alan Fettis and Richie Appleby, and Justin Whittle (groin) will be fit to play some part of the match.

Peter Taylor has revealed he will not make wholesale changes to the side at half time as had been the fashion in the opening friendlies. Instead, a number of players will get a full 90-minute run-out.

Kick-off is at 7:45pm, and general admission is £10 adults, £5 concessions.

Expected line-up (4-4-2): Musselwhite; Thelwell, Joseph, Hinds, Delaney; Green, Ashbee, Keates, Williams; Allsopp, Burgess.
Subs: Fettis, Regan, Whittle, Peat, Melton, Appleby, Forrester, Webb, Donaldson, Mann.
