Bruce to mix it up
Hull manager Steve Bruce is expected to make several changes for his side's third-round FA Cup clash with Leyton Orient.
Bruce has no new injury or suspension problems, but right-back Ahmed Elmohamady is unlikely to return from the calf injury that kept him out of the goalless draw at Blackpool on New Year's Day.
With one eye on a concerted promotion push during the second half of the season, Bruce may be tempted to rest striker Sone Aluko and midfielder Robert Koren after the pair were withdrawn due to fatigue at Hull.
Strikers Jay Simpson and Nick Proschwitz are in contention to start following their second half appearances and defender Alex Bruce is pushing for a recall. He returned to the substitutes' bench following suspension on New Year's Day.
Defender Paul McShane, plus midfielders Tom Cairney and Seyi Olofinjana provide Bruce with plenty of options should he further wish to shuffle his resources.
Leyton Orient will check on top scorer Kevin Lisbie.
The former Charlton striker missed Tuesday's disappointing 3-0 defeat at Yeovil with a shoulder injury.
Stoke loanee Ryan Brunt started in Lisbie's absence and he could feature again given he is eligible to play in the competition.
Jamie Jones is set to continue in goal with Ryan Allsop, who has been first-choice all season, looking likely to leave the club this month.
Boss Russell Slade dropped Allsop for the last two matches and revealed he has turned down the offer of a new contract, so Jones has the chance to re-establish himself as number one after missing most of the season with a shoulder injury.
