Hull City have lowered their asking price for forward Jarrod Bowen, who is still being pursued by Newcastle United.
Steve Bruce is reportedly a huge fan of the 23 year-old, who he signed during his time as manager of the Tigers back in 2014.
Newcastle were previously interested in acquiring the forward to bolster their attacking options, but were put off by Hull's initial £22m asking price.
But now it is understood that the Humberside club are willing to reduce their demands to a fee believed to be more around the £18m mark.
According to The Shields Gazette, this could reignite the Premier League side's interest in Bowen, but it is as of yet unclear whether they will try to bring him in before Friday's transfer deadline.
Newcastle are said to be prioritising a left-back after season-ending injuries to Jetro Willems and Paul Dummett, which might put an immediate deal for Bowen at risk.
It could, however, open the door for Championship side Leeds United, who have already had a bid rejected for the frontman this window.
Premier League strugglers Aston Villa are also interested after they losing Wesley for the rest of the season with injury.
Newcastle have already brought in Inter's Valentino Lazaro and former Tottenham man Nabil Bentaleb on loan this window.
But it is understood that they are in the market for a striker, with Joelinton, Andy Carroll, Dwight Gayle and Yoshinori Muto managing just two goals between them in the first half of the season.
Bowen would fit the bill perfectly after scoring 17 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
The news of Bowen's potential transfer to St. James' Park comes as rumours about a potential takeover by Saudi Arabian Prince Mohamed Bin Salman intensify.
Bin Salman and his partners are looking to purchase the club from controversial owner Mike Ashley in a deal worth around £340m.
