City To Break Transfer Record With New Striker?

With Ben Burgess and Steve McPhee suffering from long term injuries, Peter Taylor has revealed: "I am looking to bring in a new striker when the window opens again in January but that is all I'm saying at the moment."

Grant Holt is the latest name to be linked with a move. He's scored 15 goals in 23 games for Rochdale this season, making him the joint top scorer in League Two. He's under contract until the end of next season though, so the side 7th in the table may demand as much as £400,000 for the player.

Meanwhile, Geoff Horsfield is also still being touted as a possible signing, with rumours alledging it is a done deal that the 32-year-old will move from West Brom in the January transfer window. Taylor quashed these rumours three weeks ago, but admitted he would be interested if he was available.
