Wolves, beaten just once in 27 league games under Hoddle, are now sitting in joint top spot in the table after taking their points tally this term to seven from three games.

They sent Hull crashing to their first defeat since hitting the Championship with a well-worked goal in the 19th minute at rain-swept Molineux.

South Korean international Ki-Hyeon Seol was the man who did the damage as he dribbled his way past Kevin Ellison. The schemer, who completed a spell of national service in the summer, then left Roland Edge for dead and flashed in a terrific shot that found the net off the back of Tigers defender Damien Delaney.

Wolves opened well with Hull's American-born goalkeeper Boaz Myhill doing well in the first minute to block a hard, angled drive from striker Kenny Miller.

Then, just three minutes later, the hard working Miller found another gap in the Hull defence only to blast his shot inches past the far post.

Myhill rejoined the action on the half hour when he had to stretch to fingertip away a goal-bound header from Carl Cort.

Wolves, whose previous 20-game unbeaten run was recorded in 1923-24, continued to dominate with Myhill making another cracking save to deny Cort.

After the break, Wolves defender Joleon Lescott was unlucky with a header which was cleared off the line by substitute Stuart Green.

Hull, who had clocked up two draws since winning promotion to the Championship, only looked good in the later stages when home 'keeper Michael Oakes made two terrific saves to keep out efforts from substitute Stuart Elliott.
