Hull City were forced to share the spoils at the KC Stadium after West Brom twice came from behind to claim a deserved draw.

Bernard Mendy opened the scoring on 44 minutes with Jay Simpson equalising for West Brom just after the break. A header by Craig Fagan restored Hull's lead but it was quickly cancelled out by Chris Brunt's penalty.

West Brom had a chance to take the lead midway through the first half when Marc-Antoine Fortune teed up Simpson just inside the box, but the Arsenal loanee failed to hit the target as he blasted the ball well over the Hull bar.

Richard Garcia had a golden opportunity to open the scoring on the half-hour mark as a pin-point cross from Kevin Kilbane found the Australian unmarked in the area, but the Hull midfielder sent his header over the bar from six yards.

Paul Robinson came close to scoring an own goal minutes later as a long throw into the area from Hull's Sam Ricketts saw the West Brom skipper flick the ball towards the top corner of Scott Carson's net, but the England international was on hand to tip the ball over the bar for a corner.

Hull broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time as an unmarked Mendy latched onto a clever pass from Ian Ashbee, raced in on goal, neatly rounded keeper Carson and slotted the ball home from close range to make it 1-0.

The visitors leveled the scores on 53 minutes when clever footwork by James Morrison allowed him to slip the ball to Simpson who slammed the ball into the bottom corner of the net from ten yards.

Hull were back in front on 69 minutes as Mendy turned provider with a curling cross from the right onto the head of the oncoming Fagan who buried the ball into the top corner from six yards.

However, West Brom were back level minutes later as Hull defender Kamil Zayatte brought down Robert Koren in the area allowing Brunt to fire the ball into the bottom corner of the net from the penalty spot.

Ashbee nearly sent his side back into the lead moments later but Carson did well to parry away a rasping effort from the Hull captain.
