Who Are Ya?: Barnsley

The Gameplan
Good question. With clueless Davey in charge it changes throughout but we normally start with a fairly average 4-4-2 formation, especially at home. Brian Howard's the playmaker and if Ferenczi starts we will probably go a bit more direct.

Strengths
Brian Howard has been outstanding and if it wasn't for him we would already be down. His runs through midfield are essential for us. Keep him quiet and you keep us quiet. On his day Martin Devaney can be dangerous on the right wing and his crosses of late have been fantastic. Trouble is nobody has been there to get on the end of them.

Weaknesses
I think the fact we have conceded the most goals in the league says it all.

Any team with a big or quick striker will cause us trouble. Also, our keeper seems to have a major fear of leaving his line so crosses and corners cause us trouble.

Injuries/Suspensions
A flu bug ripped through the squad last week but Grant McCann and Peter Rajczi should be better for Tuesday. Dwayne Mattis and Paul Hayes miss out though. Danny Nardiello was shown a straight red card on Saturday and as the club aren't appealing against it due to a lack of video evidence, he begins a three-match ban.

Player by Player
GK: Nick Colgan: Excellent shot-stopper, although that can be questioned lately. A nightmare with crosses as he never leaves his line. Player of the Year last season, fallen majorly since.

RB: Bobby Hassell: Everybody knows he's much better at centre half except Davey. Can be beaten for pace but don't let his lack of height fool you - he is terrific in the air!

CB: Paul Reid: Captain but out of his depth in the Championship. Too slow.

CB: Lewin Nyatanga: Just signed on loan and his debut was in yesterday's 5-2 hammering but apparently he played well.

LB: Adam Eckersley. On loan from Man Utd. Started off well but been shaky recently and made a real cock-up for Colchester's first goal last weekend. Missed out against Southampton with a groin strain and if that still keeps him out Paul Heckingbottom will play and he's even worse!

RM: Martin Devaney: Has pace to burn but often runs into blind alleys. On his day is a match-winner though.

CM: Sam Togwell: Most pointless player I've ever seen. Runs around the pitch for 90minutes but never actually gets involved, yet a lot of people love him!!!

LM: Grant McCann: Looks an accomplised player and works well with Howard. Howard has been played on the left wing recently but he's no good there so I really hope he's in the centre come Tuesday.

CM: Brian Howard: Best player by a mile. A lot of heart and a lot of skill.

CF: Istvan Ferenczi: Made 2 sub appearances and played well in both before starting against Southampton and scoring and gave away a pen. Promising start!

CF: Marc Richards (Maybe): Not up the grade. Could be Peter Rajczi, another new guy who looks promising.
