The Independent - Transfer Window Feature

Last updated : 11 June 2009 By Andy Beill
What does your club need as a whole?
A proven Premier League goalkeeper and midfielders with both energy and ability. We're short of strikers and those we have aren't good enough. This is the position that needs most attention and will be crucial to staying up next season.

Who would be your dream, money-no-object buy?
Stephen Ireland was outstanding against us last season and would weigh in with much-needed goals from midfield.

Who would be the 'bargain' buy?
Paul McShane did a good job for us on loan. A transfer from Sunderland would suit all parties.

How much do you realistically think your club needs/has to spend?
£15m with a free transfer or two as well. Wages will test our finances more.

Who would you least like to see your club buy?
Manucho didn't impress much on loan from Manchester United. Service to him was poor but he was worse.

Who do you want out of the club and why?
Although on his day he's a great player, Daniel Cousin's got a bad attitude and says he's looking for big wages in the Middle East.

Who was your best signing of last season?
Geovanni - on a free from Manchester City - provided us with great memories as well as points early in the season (but little else after that).

Which signing do you wish your club made?
We failed to replace Marlon King in January. No individual scored more than 2 goals after that. Kevin Davies and Fraizer Campbell were targets we missed out on.
