Hull City Southern Supporters

So what are we?
Well basically we're a bunch of locationally displaced Hull City fans (ie. Tigers who no longer live in the fair city of Hull). The vast majority of us live in London, but there are a number of members in many different locations - and not just in the South.

We try and get together to arrange things like cheap train travel to matches so we can all go along as a black and amber striped mass from London stations to wherever City are playing that time. This means that instead of sitting on your own on a train, you could join us talking about the latest goings on in the middle east, how the current socio-economics shifts in Iraq are having an effect on the lifestyles in West London and how good was Jon Parkin's goal against Leeds (and in my experience, we've never mentioned the first two, just talked about the last quite a bit).

For those based in London who fancy themselves as a bit of a Nick Barmby, the the club have a football team entered into the APFSCIL league which play most Sundays on pitches in London against fellow supporters clubs (don't worry if you're not a Barmby-esque player - many of the team have a waistline similar to Jon Parkin a few weeks back, are as injury prone as the likes of Steve McPhee/Danny Coles/Ian Ashbee and Nick have been in the past season, and display some footballing skills that makes the likes of Simon Dakin and Craig Lawford look like Pele!).

So what does this cost?
Well we charge £5 per season at the moment. For this you get a travel guide, which gives you useful information on forthcoming grounds. We try and arrange match tickets in a group (depending on availability, but note that last season we were only unable to obtain match tickets for the infamous Leeds match - we try our best). Finally there's the excellent Tigers Eye magazine which comes out whenever the editor gets around to it.

Do you feel like helping fellow Tigers out?
We do have a committee elected at each AGM (details in a bit). If you fancy joining the committee and helping out, we're always looking for volunteers. Come and see us at next week's AGM.

The AGM
The AGM for the HCSS is held next Tuesday at the Sekforde Arms pub, Sekforde Street, London, EC1R 0HA. We start at 7.30, and are likely to be in the upstairs room (but then, there'll be a few of us propping up the bar beforehand). So if you're in London next week, come along and see what we're all about .
