Goal of the Season Results

Lawrie Dudfield just pipped Gary Alexander to win it, with his amazing goal against Oxford scored on December 1st.

Rob Matthews crossed from the right to Dudfield, who was just inside the penalty area. Dudfield hooked the ball over with his right-foot, and the shot looped over the Oxford 'keeper and into the net in front of the South Stand.

That goal received 21.5% of the votes, just 2 more than Gary Alexander's 30-yard wonderstrike at Rushden & Diamonds in October.

Third place went to David Lee for his free kick against York at Boothferry Park in September.

Michael Reddy's goal against Halifax - with a lot of the credit going to Theo Whitmore for the assist - came fourth with almost 13% of the votes.

Whitmore himself was just one vote behind in fifth place for his effort against Cheltenham in November.

Alexander's goal against Rushden & Diamonds in February, followed by his strike against Rochdale came in 6th and 7th respectively, while nobody voted for Dudfield's goal at Northwich Victoria which obviously came last.
