Goal of the Month

Last updated : 29 February 2008 By Andy Beill
City started the month in 11th place, but after winning twice and drawing three times are now 8th. Seven goals were scored, and you can select any of them for your Goal of the Month choice:

The first was scored by Dean Windass at Plymouth on the 2nd day of the month. Sam Ricketts played the ball across goal from the right and Windass was able to score from close range.

City trailed 0-2 at home to Blackpool until the introduction of second half substitute Caleb Folan. Just three minutes after coming on he got the Tigers back in the game. Fraizer Campbell dribbled the ball from the left-hand-side of the penalty box and pulled it back for Folan to fire home.

Dean Windass then did against Blackpool what he did at Plymouth a week earlier. Sam Ricketts went on a good run down the right before clipping the ball in. His cross dropped underneath the bar, where Windass was able to claim the final touch to help it over the line and earn City a point.

Fraizer Campbell got his first of the month when City went to in-form Norwich. He ran past two defenders before rolling in the equaliser.

Colchester hadn't taken note, and left Fraizer Campbell unmarked at a 64th minute free kick. Jay-Jay Okocha whipped the ball in and Campbell showed his agility to put his header past the keeper.

Fraizer Campbell continued his scoring run in the club's final game of the month at West Brom yesterday. He picked up a pass from Okocha and turned down the chance to set up a teammate, curling in a shot from 25 yards instead.

West Brom had managed to level the scores after that, but Caleb Folan decided matters with the winner. He took the ball down the left before cutting inside onto his right foot and driving a shot into the bottom corner of Dean Kiely's goal.
