Fans Pick Next Two

Last week you were voting on who should be the starting player on the left side of midfield. 30% went for summer-signing Richie Appleby, just edging past Ryan Williams who has impressed in pre-season; 'Rhino' got 23% of the votes.

Over 10% went for loan signing Stuart Green, and Neil Mann got the same number of votes.

Scott Kerr and Lee Philpott got just one vote each, and only four see it as a problem area where we need to buy a new player. 12% didn't know and leave it to Jan Molby's judgement.

A few weeks ago we asked who should be the first choice centre back, and Greg Strong came out on top. So in the last poll we asked who should partner him in defence. John Anderson was the most preferred option, getting almost half of the votes. Stalwart Justin Whittle got 22%, while Mark Greaves picked up just over 10%.

No-one went for one of the many other defenders at the club such as Matt Wicks, Nicky Mohan or Steve Burton this time. Two voters said we should add to our long list of centre halves by making a new signing. 12% couldn't decide and said Molby knows best!

So far in the team picked by you, the fans, we have Matt Glennon in goal, Mike Edwards at right back, Greg Strong and John Anderson in the centre of defence, Richie Appleby and Ian Ashbee in midfield and Lawrie Dudfield up front.

The last of the midfield three, the right-sided player, is still to be decided so that's what you'll be voting on next. Stuart Green and Ryan Williams are both gunning for this position, and there are others in reserve as well.
