Can Deano Take It?

Despite having a good record with penalties previously in his career, Windass has only hit the back of the net twice from five attempts this season.

On the opening day, his shot was parried by the Plymouth goalkeeper before Dean Marney burried the rebound.

He then managed to send the keeper the wrong way at Wolves after denying Jay-Jay Okocha the chance to take it, and was on target again at home to Sheffield United.

Cardiff's Kasper Schmeichel produced a penalty save from Windass earlier in the month, and yesterday Fraizer Campbell had to be quick to the rebound after Windass hit the post.

City have had two other penalties this season. Michael Bridges scored from the rebound of his own penalty at Crewe, while Dean Marney tucked away an injury time equaliser at Crystal Palace.

You can state who you'd like to take penalties by voting in the current poll on the homepage. Dean Windass is among the first team players you can choose from. Perhaps City shouldn't have a regular taker, and whoever wins the penalty should have the chance to take it himself? Voting closes on Tuesday.
