The Dazed Review: Hull City 0-0 Burnley

I admit I am struggling to write up a report on such a dour contest but I will give it my best shot I assure you all...

Got there nice and early as usual in anticipation of a good game and us hopefully putting a few past a team who are struggling away from home to say the least! After the performances of the last few weeks then there was no reason to expect anything different.

Duffy gets the start I had cried out for, also France comes into the side which had an attacking look about it which added to the excitement...

So the game starts slowly and unfortunately it did not step up a gear during the entire 90 minutes! Duffy ran around a lot, unfortunately he is not very good with the long ball game that we seemed to be playing... Green worked tirelessly as did Andrews... France may as well had sat down on the pitch, did not really remember him doing much at all... Ellison must be only playing to put himself in the shop window, unfortunately I don't know what shop he is looking good for? Accrington Stanley looking the likely destination at this rate!

Parkin needs a rest... Over the last few games he has suffered in performance and I would gladly agree to him being rested at Derby and allow Paynter and Fagan to be our front line on Monday...

Will say I enjoyed the banter of the away fans, some of the loudest I have heard and good to hear. Well done, Burnley fans for trying like us to lift our teams...

When the final whistle finally came it could not come soon enough in my opinion. A point that ensures us as safe mathematically and let's hope come Monday we have a good pressure-free performance against another beatable team...

Right I'm sorry I cannot really say much more as, well let's be honest, to you who listened or watched it , what else can I write?

Player Ratings

Myhill - 7 ... Must have wondered if a game was being played sometimes? His kicking was a bit off at times and made a good save in the second half...

Dawson - 7... Rogers should come in on Monday but at no disservice to Dawson... Was ok and tried to create but was guilty of too many long balls...

Cort - 7... Mr. Consistent yet again with a good display, first half not as good from where I sat but second half he did well...

Delaney - 7... Not as good as previous weeks (this is gonna get repetitive!) but did what was needed and saw him make a couple of runs through in midfield to try and spark something off...

Thelwell - 7... Again did what was needed, nothing more, nothing less...

Green - 8... Continued from last week and ran tirelessly end to end to single handedly kick some life into the game... my MOM for second week in the row...

Andrews - 6... A group sat near me does nothing but slate him but I do not think he did that badly... Not saying he did great though mind you...

Ellison - 5... Is he paying PT to play him at the minute ? Our worst player again, Elliott must surely come in on Monday for him now

France - 6... Non-event of a game for him, noticed a couple of times he just did not seem on the same wavelength of the rest of the team... had too long out of action and way too long away from being on the right wing...

Duffy - 6... Ran hard but nothing from it... he is simply an 18 yd striker, give him a ball in the area and I am sure he will finish... the team are used to Fagan running wide to pick up balls and this needs addressing in pre-season if we are to use him to his full potential...

Parkin - 6... Needs a rest, winning less and less at the minute, I think he needs that break, he has given us safety with his impact on our team and other defences. Now we are definitely safe let's give him the break he deserves...

Subs

Elliott - 6... Cannot really say, was not on long enough, lets give him a start on Monday though

Fagan - 6... Did try and run his heart out as usual, no doubt will start on Monday now...

Paynter - 6... Deserves a start on Monday... think he could give us a goal or two if given a couple of games before the end of the season...

Where to from here?

The backlash did not happen alas... PT has said he will change his team... He says Fry and Wiseman are in contention, let's give them a start maybe and have the experience on the bench if needed... Also let's bring back Welsh, Fagan, Paynter, Rogers and Elliott and let them have a good run out and prove a point...
