Player Ratings: Leeds United 0-0 Hull City

Last updated : 23 December 2006 By Andy Beill
Boaz Myhill (7) - Pulled off the only real save of the match 5 minutes before half time. Caught everything Leeds crossed into the box. A couple of moments where he could have come out and claimed the ball were the only downsides to his performance.

Sam Ricketts (8) - Got involved lots coming forwards down the right in the first half. Made crucial tackles on two occassions as the last man to prevent Leeds getting a shot in.

Andy Dawson (8) - Was left outnumbered against Leeds attacks down our left in the first half but coped well. Played through injury after half time to keep our defence solid.

Michael Turner (8) - One or two sloppy passes and headers early on but grew as the game went on, and was never beaten in the air. Solid performance.

Damien Delaney (8) - Battled well and got himself in the way of the ball.

Ryan France (7) - Made a couple of great tackles and got involved lots when we needed midfielders to step forward. Was stupid to get booked for not retreating 10 yards for a corner with the ref stood there telling him to move back.

Danny Coles (7) - Had a good go at playing in an unfamiliar position. Think we'll see the best of him next year when he's got a pre-season behind him and he's fully fit.

Dean Marney (6) - Was getting on the ball on the first half, though this left our left side exposed when we didn't have it. Wasted two chances to threaten the Leeds goal, lofting a free kick over in the first half and flashing a shot well off target in the second half.

Steve McPhee (6) - Struggled against the bobbly surface. Was too easily outmuscled when Ehiogu gave him some change to get round him.

Michael Bridges (6) - Had a couple of shots from 20 yards in the first half that he didn't hit well enough. Made probably the best opening of the game for us, getting enough sight of goal from turning the defender, but his shot was deflected away and might not have been hit sweetly enough to find the bottom corner anyway.

Craig Fagan (7) - Worked hard to make something happen against the Leeds defenders that were markly tightly and in numbers. Went on two great runs down the left, but let himself down both times by only finding a Leeds player with the cut-backs.

Subs
Nicky Forster (6) - Looked more technically able and confident with the ball at his feet than McPhee did. Failed to use the one chance he had to make a real contribution when he could have played the ball in to a City player making a run, but instead kept hold of the ball and was unable to do anything with it. In front of goal, that greed could be a good thing when some of our players try to pass the ball all the way to the net instead of being more direct in trying to register a shot.

Mark Yeates (6) - This game didn't look suited for him, and apart from one run that resulted in a free kick in a dangerous position, he failed to make much of a positive impact.
