Boaz Myhill (7) - Another good display, catching all high balls and dealing well with a couple of situations. Some poor distribution though, and was caught flat-footed in a first half chance that fortunately was headed over.

Scott Wiseman (6) - Needs to be physically stronger to compete at this level. Worked hard though and showed good pace and technique in forages down the right.

Andy Dawson (7) - Looked like he was lacking fitness, especially after taking a knock and in the second half. This left us a little exposed as Brighton attacked his flank. Made two great first half runs that could both have resulted in goals, and also put in the best cross of the season so far for Burgess's header.

Danny Coles (8) - Won everything and showed he can match up to physical strikers like Kazim-Richards and McCammon. His only mistake of the match could have cost us when he played a poor backpass, but otherwise excellent. First name on the teamsheet at the moment.

Damien Delaney (8) - Another typical Delaney performance. Nothing got past him and he won everything in the air. Still doesn't know what to do with the ball, but first and foremost he is a defender and his defending was faultless.

Ryan France (7) - Reminded us what a right winger who can hold his position and defend his flank is like. Linked up well. Great finish for the goal, let's see him do that more often.

Stuart Elliott (6) - Very quiet again. Had one good first half run that won us a corner, and played a good right-footed pass for Burgess's goal, but otherwise wasn't really in the game.

Ian Ashbee (6) - Should have been a lot better against this kind of opposition. Brighton only had a few attacks through the middle, he failed to break them up though. We needed him to control the midfield and get the ball down as everything was blowing around in the air, but he didn't.

Stuart Green (6) - Won't be playing at Plymouth if this showing is anything to go by. Totally anonymous and wasn't doing anything to keep us possession.

Nick Barmby (6) - Can't remember him being in the game much and in these conditions with the ball up in the air he was never going to be.

Craig Fagan (8) - Poor first touch but got involved in the game a lot and set up the first goal out of nothing. Made an effort to have a couple of goes at goal in the first half. Had another chance late on but totally fluffed his shot.

Ben Burgess (8) - Just what we needed. Great with the ball. Unlucky not to score with the header. Did well to keep his cool with the goal, even if it did take two goes.

Curtis Woodhouse (7) - Wasn't on for long but in 13 minutes he did more than Stuart Green did in 77. Tackled well, played it simple. Should get more chances in the first team on this showing.
