Player Ratings: Hull City 2-0 Birmingham City

Last updated : 24 February 2007 By Andy Beill
Boaz Myhill (7) - Did brilliantly to tip over that McSheffrey shot in the first half but was otherwise untroubled.

Sam Ricketts (7)

Michael Turner (7)

Danny Coles (7) - A couple of dodgy clearances early in the first half but won all his headers well and made his presence felt.

Damien Delaney (6) - Doesn't quite have the speed in his thought or in his movement to really help the momentum going forwards but filled in well and looked solid.

Ray Parlour (8) - Used the ball simply and effectively, didn't play it when he didn't have to and took no risks. Still lacking fitness to make 90 minutes. Excellent ball into the box for the opening goal.

Ian Ashbee (8) - Probably the pick of our midfield, constantly battling and looking to bring the full backs into the game.

David Livermore (8) - Gets forward a bit more than the other two midfielders to offer us something on the left. Had a fantastic 30-yard shot just turned onto the bar, a goal would have befitted his performance though.

Nicky Forster (8) - Constantly caused problems for Birmingham. Would be unfair to say he was proving something to his old team because he's been in good form for quite a few games now. Surprising that he could still run defenders ragged in the closing stages, one of those runs earning the penalty and another where he could have set up either of two players at the back post but blazed over instead.

Dean Windass (8) - Was more of a goal threat and proved he can lead the attack. Instinctive movement to poach the opening goal and tucked his penalty away well. Had other chances to make it a hat-trick.

Stuart Elliott (7) - Ran out of steam a bit in the second half but performed admirably and fits well into the three-man attack.
