Player Ratings: Hull City 1-1 Crystal Palace

Last updated : 30 September 2006 By Andy Beill
Boaz Myhill (6) - Had nothing to save. Distribution was poor - long balls that Ward and Cort would win all day, or beyond them and straight to the opposition goalkeeper.

Alton Thelwell (6) - Off the pace. Didn't support our right winger enough.

Andy Dawson (6) - Set piece delivery was terrible - straight to the keeper every time. Blew a shot over the bar.

Michael Turner (6) - Won nothing when coming up for set pieces - until the last one, which he scored from. Could take tips from Cort and Ward on how to dominate in the air.

Danny Mills (7) - Despite not having much aerial ability, his influence in the centre of defence is invaluable. He organises well, talks and encourages his teammates, and lets the opposition feel his presence. Very intelligent at times.

Craig Fagan (8) - Worked very hard - as if he had a point to prove against someone! He troubled the full back, and even put in a decent shot on goal.

Mark Yeates (8) - The attacking winger with a left foot we've been crying out for. He ran at players, down the wing and inside, and even if he got tackled on some of those runs, it was penetrating the opposition and raised our confidence. Two-footed with good technique. Created a great chance for himself in the first half, but a defender managed to block his shot.

Ian Ashbee (7) - Influential as usual without doing much with the ball.

Dean Marney (7) - Worked hard and if he keeps getting chances in the team in his best position and given encouragement he will reach his potential.

Jon Parkin (6) - Was given poor service. Had a good chance late on which looked in as he blasted it towards goal, but was just off target.

Michael Bridges (7) - As usual - skilful, but faded out slightly in the second half. Had a decent effort on goal in the first half.

Subs
Nicky Forster (6) - Didn't manage to get involved in his time on the pitch.

Ryan France (6) - An intelligent substitution and good to see him back on the right.
