Player Ratings: Hull City 0-1 Stoke City

Last updated : 14 September 2005 By Andy Beill
Boaz Myhill (7) - Nothing he could have done about the goal.

Danny Coles (6) - Should be playing in the position we signed him for, centre back.

Roland Edge (6) - Created nothing down the left and was nowhere near Harper as he played in the ball for the goal.

Leon Cort (6) - Had chances in front of goal he should have done better with. Incapable of playing a pass more than 10 yards.

Damien Delaney (6) - Suffered from receiving many passes from Cort as it meant he was relied on to play the ball forward, which we all know isn't his strength. Unlucky not to score with the header.

Ryan France (6) - Again failed to create anything down the right.

Stuart Elliott (6) - Struggling to find the chances he was getting last season and didn't really create much himself.

John Welsh (7) - Did well with a couple of shots and an all-round decent performance.

Curtis Woodhouse (7) - Played well and was unlucky to be taken off. Should have done much better with an early chance when he had a clear sight of goal but wasted it - we won't get many chances like that so we need to take them.

Chris Brown (6) - Holds the ball up well but never had a sight of goal.

Nick Barmby (6) - Some nice work early on, but didn't have much joy after that.

Jason Price (7) - The attacking formation he was played in in the second half seemed to favour him. Did well with one sliding tackle in the North-East corner of the pitch, but bottled another minutes later in the move that led to their goal.

Stuart Green (5) - Did nothing of any worth to the team. Balls into the box were below standard, and without that there isn't much more to his game.

Ben Burgess (6) - His header that went wide seemed to sum up his luck. Didn't receive any service to do anything more.
