Player Ratings: Hull City 0-0 Luton Town

Last updated : 18 October 2006 By Andy Beill
Boaz Myhill (6) - Untroubled.

Danny Mills (9) - Works so hard and is willing to throw himself in the way of a shot for a team he's only supposed to be with for two months. Let's hope it's longer. Desperately unlucky not to score in the first half after beating men coming inside and shooting only for it to be cleared off the line, and came close again with a free kick in the second half. Gets forward well but is back when needed.

Sam Ricketts (8) - Looked much better on the left. Got forward with pace and went past players. If he's not needed to play right-back, he's serious competition for Andy Dawson.

Danny Coles (8) - Made a great return. Played one superb ball into the box as well as putting a few into the stand, but that's alright. Took a few gambles with some challenges and passbacks but these all came off in our favour. Whenever there was a loose ball at the back, it was Coles mopping up.

Michael Turner (6) - Still looks nothing special, especially with Coles taking charge.

Craig Fagan (7) - Hard-working as usual. Almost scored in the first half. Got himself booked with a stupid foul and is now suspended.

Stuart Elliott (7) - Not everything came off, but it looked like he was playing with more confidence and he looked a threat. A marked improvement that he can hopefully continue.

Ian Ashbee (7) - Good enough.

John Welsh (7) - Looked up for the battle, worked tremendously hard, and never shirked a challenge.

Jon Parkin (7) - Hit and miss... he hit it, he missed it. Two of our best chances of the game came from him doing well to win the ball, but then missing with the shot. Even in the warm-up before the game he was struggling to hit the back of the net. Lacking confidence in front of goal?

Nicky Forster (7) - Fairly impressive on this glimpse. He looks alert, makes runs, and won races for the ball. Didn't really have any clear chances to score, but he was always in the mix and stayed high up the pitch.

Subs
Ryan France (7) - Looked more of a livewire than when he plays the full game. Really should have scored the rebound from Mills's free kick.

Michael Bridges (6) - Apparently fouled in the build-up to Elliott's 'goal', according to the ref. Doesn't really look like an impact player to bring on with 8 minutes to go.

Damien Delaney - Galloped around for a couple of minutes.
