Mark Convery gave the visitors a surprise lead just before the hour mark, but Adebayo Akinfenwa came off the bench to score his first league goal of the season 4 minutes from time.

Rovers are now 5 points ahead of 2nd-placed Hull City, who have a game in hand because they didn't play today. The Tigers were due to go to Southend, but that game's been re-arranged for 20th April because the Shrimpers take on Blackpool in the LDV Trophy Final tomorrow.

Huddersfield's game at Northampton was abandoned after 39 minutes of play for safety reasons, much to their relief after going behind to a 4th minute Marc Richards goal. Mansfield v Oxford was called off at half time with the score at 0-0. Yeovil's game at York was another casualty, being postponed because of a waterlogged pitch this morning.

Torquay took advantage of their promotion rivals being out of action by moving up to 3rd place. They easily defeated Cambridge 3-0.

Lincoln took the opportunity to return to the play-off zone by winning at Leyton Orient. Gary Fletcher struck twice on his old stomping ground to see them move up to 6th.

Macclesfield got another important win, thrashing Kidderminster 4-1 at Aggborough. They're just 3 points away from safety with a game in hand of both Cambridge and Bristol Rovers.

Rovers lost 1-0 at Boston thanks to Danny Thomas' first half strike. They haven't won in any of their last 10 matches, and if their poor form continues then Ian Atkins could find himself with a different job to do when he takes over as Pirates manager next season.

Rochdale picked up a vital win against bottom-of-the-league Carlisle. The visitors' keeper Matt Glennon was sent off in the 32nd minute for bringing down Grant Holt in the box and Gary Jones scored from the penalty. Holt added another in the second half to secure the 2-0 win, which puts them level on points with Bristol Rovers and Cambridge but with a better goal difference and a game in hand.

Bury won the mid-table clash against Cheltenham to leapfrog them into 11th place. The Robins had gone ahead through Paul Brayson in the 28th minute, but the visitors fought back with second half goals from Danny Swailes and substitute Chris Porter for a 2-1 moral victory but little else.

At the Vetch Field, Swansea came back from going a goal down to beat Scunthorpe 4-2. Cleveland Taylor put the Iron in front in the 25th minute, but Swansea replied with four goals before Taylor narrowed the deficit late on.
