Tigers Back On Track

Ben Burgess was on target twice in the first half at the KC Stadium, and although Steve MacLean pulled one back in the 74th minute, the pride of Humberside is with the Tigers after the 2-1 win.

They're now only four points behind league leaders Doncaster Rovers who drew today. Cheltenham were leading through Martin Devaney's 50th minute goal until stoppage time when Chris Brown saved a point.

Huddersfield are into the top three after a 4-0 thrashing of Macclesfield. Booth (21), Abbott (47), Sodje (69) and McAliskey (90) gave them the win which sees them overtake Oxford who slipped up at Carlisle. Second half strikes from Tom Cowan (52) and Craig Farrell (76) sealed a crucial three points for the bottom-of-the-table side. They're only two points behind Macclesfield, although they're still some way off moving out of the relegation zone. Rochdale, who sit just above it, drew 0-0 with Bury.

In the play-off zone, Torquay stay 5th after their stalemate at York. Mansfield missed the chance to go above them after Lincoln fought back to win. Liam Lawrence had given the Stags a half time lead with a 37th minute penalty, but a Gary Fletcher brace and further goals from Francis Green and Simon Yeo completed a second half raid for the home side.

However, the Imps are still just outside the top seven as Yeovil also won handsomely. They thrashed Bristol Rovers 4-0 at Huish Park, and the Pirates are now without a win in eight games.

Northampton remain 9th despite a 2-0 win over Boston. That's 7 wins out of 9 for the Cobblers, while Boston slip a place to 4th from bottom.

That's because Cambridge took three points from the Reynolds Arena. Convery put Darlington ahead in the 26th minute, but two strikes from Easter and Webb and Guttridge goals put the visitors in a comfortable lead. That was until two goals within the space of a minute from Keltie and Clark late on narrowed the deficit to 4-3, but a Darlington equaliser wasn't forthcoming.

Mark Yates' 81st minute penalty earned Kidderminster a point at Leyton Orient. Gary Alexander had put the O's in front in the 24th minute - his 13th goal of the season. Dean Keates and David Hunt were both shown red cards shortly after the break to make it 10 v 10 for most of the second half which ended even thanks to Yates' equaliser.

Southend v Swansea also finished up as a draw. Kevin Nugent put the visitors ahead in the 62nd minute only for Lawrie Dudfield to level 4 minutes later in what could be his last game for the Shrimpers after his loan came to an end. Dudfield and his team-mates couldn't find a winner for the home side even after Swansea 'keeper Brian Murphy was dismissed for handling outside his area with 14 minutes to go.
