Rovers Run Away From Tight Chasing Pack

Last updated : 29 February 2004 By Andy Beill
Rovers rolled over Kidderminster on Friday night with a 5-0 win at Belle Vue, and the chasing pack were unable to keep up when they were in action the following day.

2nd-placed Hull City fell to a 2-0 defeat at Lincoln, while Oxford dropped two points as Bristol Rovers' late substitute Lewis Haldane equalised in the 82nd minute at the Memorial Ground.

Torquay are just three points behind in 4th place after claiming their third successive win. Goals either side of half time by David Graham and Steve Woods gave them 2-0 victory against Boston.

Mansfield are down to 5th, two points behind Torquay but with a game in hand. They were beaten 4-2 by plucky Cheltenham yesterday.

Yeovil are level on points, but even a 4-1 win against Cambridge doesn't improve their goal difference significantly enough to overtake the Stags.

Huddersfield's game at Carlisle was postponed due to the weather. They also have 56 points, two more than 8th-placed Lincoln. Swansea v Rochdale and York v Scunthorpe also fell foul of the weather.

Elsewhere, Northampton and Southend picked up wins against Leyton Orient and Macclesfield respectively, while Bury and Darlington drew.
