Rix For Oxford

The U's were without a manager after suspending Ian Atkins for agreeing to join Bristol Rovers in the summer.

Chairman Firoz Kassam has now replaced him with Graham Rix on a temporary basis. He's set to be thrown in at the deep end in Saturday's game against league leaders Doncaster Rovers.

Rix was a Chelsea coach for seven years until Claudio Ranieri took over as manager, then lasted 13 months in his first managerial appointment at Portsmouth. He's recently been coaching at Dundee, who he used to play for, and scouting for Watford.
