Second half goals from Adebayo Akinfenwa and Paul Green gave them the 2-0 win over Cambridge which seals their promotion to Division Two, just a year after rejoining the league by winning the Conference play-offs.

Rovers are set to be joined by Hull City in the Second Division next season. They battled out a 3-2 victory at Swansea today, and another win on Saturday will guarantee them promotion.

Huddersfield's place in the last automatic promotion place is under threat after they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Kidderminster. Torquay's 3-0 win against Oxford leaves them just 2 points behind the Terriers in the chase for promotion.

Lincoln slip to 5th after drawing 1-1 at Northampton. They came from a goal down to seal a point 6 minutes from time through Simon Yeo. Mansfield stay 6th after drawing 0-0 with Bristol Rovers.

Carlisle missed their chance to move off the foot of the table for the first time since August. They drew 1-1 at Leyton Orient.

Macclesfield got a crucial three points by beating Rochdale, who are just a point off the bottom two. Defeats for Darlington and Scunthorpe see them in the mire as well.
