Cheltenham Town boss John Ward has re-signed Stoke City midfielder Brian Wilson on loan with a view to permanent move at the end of the season. The 20-year-old has already had a spell at Whaddon Road and the deal was rushed through just minutes before the transfer deadline.

Cambridge United have completed a deal to sign ex-Tottenham keeper Gavin Ward. The 22-year-old was released by Spurs after six years years at White Hart Lane and had recently been playing for non-league side Welling. The U's have also signed defender Chris Clarke on a free transfer from Second Division Blackpool.

Carlisle United player-boss Paul Simpson has extended the loan deal of Preston North End striker Kelvin Langmead until the end of the season. The 18-year-old has been at Brunton Park since the end of February and has impressed enough to be kept on as the club looks to avoid relegation.

Scunthorpe United have parted company with manager Brian Laws after a meeting between the board of directors at the club. Laws had been in charge at Glanford Park for over 7 years but leaves the club only six points clear of the relegation zone.

Bury have signed midfielder Paul Rickers on non-contract terms. Rickers was released by Northampton last month and had been looking for a new club since.

Swansea City caretaker boss Alan Curtis brought in three new players on transfer deadline day. Lee Fieldwick joins the club on loan from Second Division Brentford whilst Matt Rees has also arrived in a loan deal from Millwall. Leyton Maxwell has signed for the Swans on a non-contract basis following his release from Cardiff City.

Darlington are reportedly interested in bringing former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish to the club in a director of football role.

York City player-boss Chris Brass has brought in striker Jon Newby from Huddersfield Town in a bid to fend off the threat of relegation.

Macclesfield Town boss John Askey has signed Jamie Olsen on a free transfer until the end of the season. Olsen had been at Second Division Tranmere Rovers but terminated his contract at the club by mutual consent. The Silkmen have also signed keeper Kristian Rogers from Sheffield United after the 23-year-old impressed whilst on trial at the club.

Oxford United boss Graham Rix made his first signing since taking over at the Kassam Stadium by bringing in Courtney Pitt on a free transfer. The 22-year-old left Premiership side Portsmouth to be reunited with the former Pompey boss.

Doncaster Rovers boss Dave Penney made three new signings as he looks to cement an automatic promotion place. Goalkeeper Adam Collins and defender Mike Williamson have arrived on loan deals until the end of the season from Newcastle and Southampton respectively whilst midfielder Chris Black has joined on a free transfer from Sunderland.

Leyton Orient boss Martin Ling has taken Shaun Cooper and Warren Hunt on loan from Premiership side Portsmouth for the remainder of the season. Meanwhile, defender Dave McGhee has left the club to sign for Canvey Island.

Boston United manager made another signing by bringing in Sheffield United midfielder Kevan Hurst on loan until the end of the season.

Northampton Town boss Colin Calderwood has brought in former Cambridge United player-manager John Taylor on non-contract terms. The 39-year-old striker made 13 appearances for Cambridge this season before being sacked last week.

Bristol Rovers made two signings from Second Division Stockport County on deadline day. Aaron Lescott has signed on loan until the end of the season and Ali Gibb was signed on a free transfer. They also brought in Michael Williamson on loan from Southampton, and Daniel Williams and John Anderson on free transfers from Kidderminster and Hull City respectively. However, a move for Anderson's Tigers team-mate Jamie Forrester fell through.
