Cambridge United have sacked manager John Taylor following a dismal run of results that has seen the U's drop near the relegation places. The 39-year-old was in charge at the club for just over two years and his assistant Dale Brooks has been appointed as caretaker manager bur the club are keen to appoint a new manager in the near future.

Mark Peters has agreed a new deal with Leyton Orient that will see the defender stay at the club until the end of next season. Peters has impressed Orient boss Martin Ling with some good performances sine he signed for the club in september last year from Second Division Rushden & Diamonds.

Yeovil Town boss Gary Johnson has signed Bristol City striker Lee Matthews on a month's loan as he looks to cement a place in the Third Division play-offs. However, a player on his way out of Huish Park is midfielder Jamie Gosling who has joined Conference side Aldershot on loan.

Brian Flynn has left his position of manager at Swansea after agreeing to leave the club by mutual consent. Flynn's assistant Kevin Reeves has also left the club and club coach Alan Curtis took control of the side in the 4-2 victory over Scunthorpe on the weekend.

Boston United have continued their recent signing spree by completing a deal for Huddersfield Town midfielder Chris Holland. The 26-year-old - who was out of contract at the McAlpine Stadium in the summer - has signed an 18-month contract with the Pilgrims after he was told a new contract would not be offered to him by the Terriers. Meanwhile, manager Steve Evans has also completed the signing of Bournemouth midfielder Danny Thomas and is reported to be close to securing a deal that will see Stoke City striker Jermaine Palmer join the club on loan.

Darlington boss David Hodgson has signed up Middlesbrough forward Danny Graham on loan until the end of season despite fears that the deal had fallen through last week. Funding from the supporters of the club has allowed the 18-year-old to move to the Reynolds Arena for the remainder of the season.

York City player-boss Chris Brass has agreed a new deal with Andy Bell that will see the former Wycombe Wanderers striker stay at Bootham Crescent until the end of the season. Bell had been on non-contract terms at the club but has impressed enough to earn a deal that could be extended in the summer.
