Carlisle United player-boss Paul Simpson has made another signing in a bid to climb out out of the relegation zone. Preston North End striker Kelvin Langmead has joined the Cumbrians on a month's loan after showing promise in the reserve and youth sides at the First Division club.

Cheltenham Town boss John Ward has snapped up Jerry Gill on non-contract terms until the end of the season after the 33-year-old impressed whilst on trail at Whaddon Road.

Scunthorpe United boss Brian Laws has a made two signings in a bid to halt his sides poor run of form. Former Grimsby Town player-manager Paul Groves has signed a month long loan deal along with Darren Holloway who has joined from First Division strugglers Wimbledon in a similar deal. 38-year-old Groves has been brought in after he was relieved of his managerial duties at the the Second Division outfit whilst Holloway - who is out-of-contract at the end of the season - hopes to earn a permanent deal at the club after his initial loan spell with the club.

Cambridge United player-boss John Taylor has described his sides performance in the 4-1 defeat at the hands of Yeovil Town as "a horrorshow".

Lincoln City midfielder Scott Willis has completed a deal to join promotion-chasing Conference side Hereford United on a month's loan. The 22-year-old has just completed a similar deal with Northwich Victoria.

Boston United have signed Arsenal striker Jermaine brown on loan for the remainder of the season. Brown - a product of the youth system at Highbury - has been with the club for 11 years but hasn't really been given a chance to make an impact at the Premiership giants.

Swansea City manager Brian Flynn has brought winger Stuart Roberts back to the Vetch on loan from Second Division Wycombe Wanderers. Roberts has joined the Swans on a month's loan and returns to the club after leaving to join Wycombe back in 2001.

Huddersfield Town boss Peter Jackson is considering making a move to sign on-loan striker Pawel Abbot on a permanent basis. Abbott - currently on-loan from First Division Preston North End - has been impressive since joining the Terriers, scoring twice in two games. The 22-year-old joined the club after Jon Stead was sold to Premiership side Blackburn Rovers at the beginning of the month.
