Carlisle United player-boss Paul Simpson has made another signing in a bid to climb out out of the relegation zone. Preston North End striker Kelvin Langmead has joined the Cumbrians on a month's loan after showing promise in the reserve and youth sides at the First Division club.

Former Grimsby Town player-manager Paul Groves has signed a month long loan deal along with Darren Holloway who has joined from First Division strugglers Wimbledon in a similar deal. 38-year-old Groves has been brought in after he was relieved of his managerial duties at the the Second Division outfit whilst Holloway - who is out-of-contract at the end of the season - hopes to earn a permanent deal at the club after his initial loan spell with the club.

Huddersfield Town boss Peter Jackson is considering making a move to sign on-loan striker Pawel Abbot on a permanent basis. Abbott - currently on-loan from First Division Preston North End - has been impressive since joining the Terriers, scoring twice in two games. The 22-year-old joined the club after Jon Stead was sold to Premiership side Blackburn Rovers at the beginning of the month.
