City Want Foran

The former Irish U-21 international went to Brunton Park a year ago in a £100,000 deal. However, with none of the Carlisle players receiving any wages for a reported two months they are allowed to move on free transfers.

22-year-old Foran is one of Carlisle's biggest assets, and scored 16 goals in 41 starts last season, including one against City at Boothferry Park in January.

Should the 6'1" centre forward join City he would link up with ex-Carlisle players Matt Glennon and Stuart Green.

Tigers chairman Adam Pearson said yesterday that City are "close" to signing a forward, and will "be able to make an announcement very soon."
