First half line-up: Myhill; Doyle, Turner, Cooper, Ricketts; Garcia, Ashbee, Hughes, Buckley; Featherstone, Folan.

They didn't really sparkle. Some good movement and decent passing but rarely threatened the goal until Ricketts hit a rasper against the bar just before half time. Buckley was a bit starved of the ball but looked good on it when he got it. Folan and Garcia looked very sharp again. Featherstone wasted the best chances but played well, very lively and very willing to take the ball. Cooper looks a fair prospect at the back, calm in possession and quite physically strong. 0-0 at half time.

Second half line-up: Duke; France, Cooper, Plummer, Lamplough; Fagan, Marney, Welsh, Buckley (Devitt); Geovanni, Windass.

A much better half. Geovanni was magic, pulling the strings, dropping off and playing great balls into Fagan and Buckley. With the service, Buckley looked a really good player. Lamplough - another who looked promising - attacked well from left back. Geo opened the scoring with a deflected 20 yarder. Buckley made it two, racing onto a perfect Geovanni pass and rounding the 'keeper. Welsh, who'd been anonymous, scored a terrific third. Lamplough made it four, getting on the end of a good cross from the opposite side.

Should have been more, really. Fagan, who was excellent again, headed over a super cross from Buckley and then failed to round the 'keeper after latching onto another super pass from Geo. A really good second half, finished 4-0.

We look fit, sharp and quick in mind and body. Please let Geo be this good every week. Please. I'd say we look short of a goal scorer and we look short of cover at centre-back. Otherwise, we look pretty strong all over, assuming Boateng and Halmosi join Mendy through the door.
