The City keeper, who has been blamed by Peter Taylor for certain goals over recent weeks including the second at Leeds on Saturday, has attracted attention for his early season form in the Championship. As well as Arsenal and Charlton, Wigan were rumoured to be interested in the £2million-rated player.

However, they are now reported to be moving for Charlton's 35-year-old Irish international Dean Kiely, who after over six years at the Valley is now struggling to make the side, playing just three Premier League games so far this season. He may move on a free transfer this month.

In turn, Addicks boss Alan Curbishley may look to replace Kiely by adding Myhill to his squad. City will be reluctant to sell the 23-year-old though.
