Walters, as well as defender Richard Hinds, could be on his way out of the club according to reports, and responded with two goals.

However, it was midfielder Paul Anderson who opened the scoring inside three minutes with a deflected shot.

City let their early lead slip as Lee Owens tapped in after Matt Duke parried, but went back in front on the half hour mark against the run of play. Anderson crossed and Walters were there at the back post to score.

10 minutes into the second half, City were awarded a controversial penalty kick when Joey Waterhouse was adjudged to have fouled Alistair Benson. Walters took the kick, putting it beyond the 'keeper to make it 3-1, which is how it stayed.

City line-up: Duke; Wiseman, Byron, Hinds, Edge; Benson, Matthews, Fry, Anderson; Walters, Donaldson.
