Elmohamady, 29 is currently on the transfer list and new Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce, formerly Hull boss, looks likely to prize him away from the KCOM Stadium - according to the Birmingham Mail.
Having taken over the reigns at Vill Park yesterday, it is believed that Villa Chairman Dr Tony Xia will hand Bruce an hansome transfer budget during the January transfer window.
The Egyptian International has twice signed for Bruce for both Sunderland and Hull City with a third move setting up a hat-trick of clubs.
