Two More Shown the Door

Rodney Rowe - 15-month City career ends
Forwards Rodney Rowe and Adrian Caceres are the latest to be released with their contracts almost up.

Former Huddersfield and York striker Rowe joined City from Gillingham in January 2000. He played an important role in helping City to the play-offs, scoring 6 times.

However this season has seen him struggle with a number of injuries, and he hasn't completed the full 90 minutes in any of the 15 games he's appeared in. Despite scoring 7 goals for our promotion-winning Reserve side, he has only found the net twice for the first team this season.

Though looking sharp when fully fit, his injury proneness and competence in front of goal from open play (5 of his 8 strikes have been from the penalty spot) have proven to be his downfall.

Caceres' Tigers career has been much shorter. He joined a month ago from Southampton after scoring twice in a Reserve match, and made one start and three sub appearances for the first team.

His general technique has been good, but with Jan Molby looking to trim down the squad the dual Argentine-Australian attacker has been shown the door.

Meanwhile there has been no announcement on Ben Morley or Jason Van Blerk, both of whom will also be out of contract in the summer.
