Totesport Sponsor New Kit

Last updated : 30 June 2009 By Andy Beill
Taken from tigerleisure.comThe tote, established in 1928, is the fourth largest bookmaker in the country. Its totesport branding, in use since 2004, will be on City's playing kits for the next two seasons, replacing Karoo, the Kingston Communications Internet service.

The sponsorship was officially announced at a much anticipated press conference today, where the club's new kits were also displayed in full for the first time. The home shirt is mainly amber, with black pinstripes for the first ever time. The away kit is all pale blue with different shades of blue stripes. The goalkeeper shirt is green. The totesport.com logo is in dark green and red lettering with white outline. The sponsor's logo on the away shirt is totesport without the .com.

Umbro, a subsidy of Nike, is now in the last year of its deal manufacturing City's kits. The club will continue with its policy of changing playing strips every season.

The new sponsor and kit designs have been major talking points since the end of last season. The news had been leaked before today, although many inaccurate rumours have also been widely circulated. It marks the end of the close season on the day that players' contracts typically run until. Transfer activity will begin to happen as we enter July tomorrow, and Phil Brown's squad return for pre-season on Monday.
