In the LDV Trophy Northern Second Round, local rivals Scunthorpe United will come to the KC Stadium for the first ever time, with a sell-out crowd expected to witness the event.

Scunthorpe are there courtesy of a last minute Richard Kell goal winning the first round game against Shrewsbury last week in front of 1265 fans. City went through after a weakened side defeated Darlington 3-1, with 1598 watching at the Reynolds Arena. Peter Taylor will be expected to put out a first team side against the club's local rivals, however.

The tie will be played on the week commencing 3rd November, preceding the league meetings at Glanford Park in December and in Hull in March.

It will see Tigers left-back Andy Dawson come up against his former side for the first time, while team-mates Jamie Forrester and Paul Musselwhite could also face their old team. Forrester scored his first goal for City in the league game at Glanford Park in February which the home side won 3-1, while City were 2-0 victors at Boothferry Park in November.

Confirmation of date and ticket information for the forthcoming match are expected from the club shortly.
