Tigers Move For Marshall

Marshall - a former England Under-21 midfielder who can also play at centre back and wing-back - is to complete a loan move to City later today.

Alton Thelwell will be out for a month with a groin injury and Justin Whittle is also sidelined with a calf injury, so Peter Taylor has moved to sign defensive cover. With Ian Ashbee just one booking away from his tenth and subsequent suspension, Marshall will also provide backup for the Tigers skipper.

The 6ft Islington-born player - who celebrated his 25th birthday yesterday - began his career with Norwich, scoring 11 times in 95 league starts. He was signed by Peter Taylor, then Leicester manager, in 2001 for £650,000, but moved on a year later to West Brom. However, he's only managed 4 league starts since the £700,000 transfer after falling out with manager Gary Megson.

Taylor's assistant, Colin Murphy, said: "With Justin and Alton both struggling we're a little bit short on the right-hand side and someone like Lee will be quite valuable because he can play in four different positions.
"An agreement has been made between the boy and the management and it is now a case of rubber-stamping the deal at the West Brom end."

The switch is likely to be for a month.
