The 23-year-old Tunisia international has signed a contract until the end of the season with an option for a further two years after a successful trial at the KC Stadium.
French-born Belaid has Champions League experience with former club Slavia Prague, who released him earlier this month.
Belaid is hoping to be available for his Tigers debut in the home clash with QPR a week on Saturday.
