Doncaster installed Saunders as their new manager on Friday after placing Sean O'Driscoll and assistant Richard O'Kelly on gardening leave and 24 hours later clinched their first win in 20 matches.

Pearson told the Hull Daily Mail: "They've had a change and a good result, but it's up to us to make sure our performance is right first and foremost. If we do that we've got a great chance.

"Whenever clubs decide to have a change of manager, it's always going to have some sort of affect.

"We've got to make sure our performance levels are right and give us the best chance of winning the game."
