England Under-21 boss Taylor has been chosen to manage the Football League select team to face the Italian Serie B team, taking place at the KC Stadium in Hull on Tuesday 21st February.

He's named an initial squad of 33 players all under the age of 21 for the match. Only 16 will be involved on the night though.

Tigers striker Billy Paynter is one of those chosen. Fellow Liverpudlian John Welsh, an England Under-21 regular, is another of Taylor's own players. Defender Scott Wiseman, who gained Under-20 honours at the Toulon Tournament in the summer, is also picked.

The only other eligible City player that could have been picked was midfielder Russell Fry, who has one England Under-20 cap to his name.
