Gary Alexander - back in business
Gary Alexander is hoping to have recovered from an ankle injury to face his old side at St. James Park to make his first appearance of the season.

That means Simon Johnson is likely to stay on the bench, despite scoring a late equaliser at Bristol Rovers on Tuesday. Gary Bradshaw will lose his place in the starting line-up if Alexander's selected.

Carl Regan joins the squad after signing on loan and will compete the right-back position with Mike Edwards.

Mike Price and Justin Whittle are also pushing for starts after impressing when coming on as substitutes on Tuesday.

With a near full squad to choose from, manager Jan Molby has some tough decisions to make, and will leave everyone guessing until 3 o'clock tomorrow.

Expected line-up (4-3-3): Glennon; Edwards, Anderson, Strong, Smith; Green, Ashbee, Price; Dudfield, Alexander, Elliott.
Subs from: Musselwhite, Whittle, Regan, Greaves, Williams, Johnson, Bradshaw.
