The Truth, The Hull Truth & Nothing but the Proof

Well, as a long suffering Hull City fan who has been happy to stick by the Tigers during near administration through to Premiership jubilation, there comes a time in any supporters life when you have to put blind faith aside and look at the true hard facts. Hull City are no more than a mid division, mid table team at best, Always was and always will be. Greatness, Fame and Status are 3 attributes we will never be known for...ever.

After the recent loss to Portsmouth followed by a laclustre performence against Sheffield Utd. I thought, where did it go wrong?...That was an easy question to answer, we have evidence of our onfolding fete when you consider the once great title holders such as Leeds and Nottingham Forrest who where considered the best teams in the land. Only to see them walk the well trodden path of ignorance that one day it could all be over as they freefall through the football league to obscurity.

Hull City's biggest mistake (aside for not getting rid of Phil Clown before the end of the first season in the Premiership) is that when we got promoted, we should not have had our sights set on maintaining Premier status, but should instead have been preparing for Championship football, where we would have had a sustained future as opposed to racking up ludicrous wage bills that we never could have honoured long term, Phil Clown and Paul Duff where amateurs in an Arena of master tacticians and hard nosed businessmen and where always doomed to embarrassment and failure to live upto there ill deserved position.

Hull City are now treading the same path and we will almost certainly crash through the next two tiers of the football league due to lack of managerial know how, belief and confindence of the players and a staggering lack of quality in a team that has spent millions upon millions over the last two seasons. Hull City are a lower division side, so all those who believe different, go and support Man U or Liverpool because your football thirst will never be quenched by playing the likes of Mansfield, Exeter and Boston Utd.

As for me, Just as long as there is long term financial stabilty at Hull City, we know that the crowds will always turn up year in year out and I would be quite happy to watch a half decent side in a half decent division than have unrealistic beliefs followed by hollow disapointments we experience right now match in and match out. The one saving grace about Hull City is Adam Pearson, His calm businesslike reign is the only thing that has kept Hull City alive and out of administration....Again.

So for all the die hards, accept the type of team we are and lets remove these unnessacary pressures we carry to every game..we need to get the basics right before we can even think of footballing success and it must start with the fans.
