The City manager said: "He's a player that I like and that I've shown an interest in. That's as far as it has gone at the moment."
Taylor added that he is also still interested in bringing Junior Lewis and Curtis Woodhouse to the club, but doubts moving for Grimsby's Graham Hockless who had been tipped to join the Tigers.
He said: "That's an unlikely one. There are cetain positions that I'm looking for but that one is news to me."
