Peter Taylor is on the look-out for another striker, especially after the news that Ben Burgess could be out until the end of the year with cruciate ligament damage. He believes that 6'2" former Welsh international Roberts fits the bill.

The 35-year-old is to be released at the end of his Norwich City contract after scoring 6 goals in their Division One championship-winning season.

Taylor said: "His agent has contacted me and he's someone I would definitely be interested in - if we could afford him.
"I look at him though and I think he's still going to get a Division One club and his wages could be too high. If we could afford him, we'd be interested."

Roberts has been at Carrow Road for seven seasons, scoring 82 league goals since his £1million move from Wolves. He had previously been with Leicester, Huddersfield and Watford in a distinguished career that has reaped 231 goals in all competitions.
