Taylor Pipped Again

City were undefeated with three wins and two draws, as well as progressing to the next stage of the LDV Trophy after winning at Darlington.

However, Doncaster Rovers out-did the league leaders by winning every single game, climbing from 10th to 2nd in the table. Manager Dave Penney has subsequently been awarded the manager of the month accolade.

Joe Royle (Ipswich Town) and Paul Sturrock (Plymouth Argyle) picked up the awards for their respective divisions.

Despite missing out on the award for a second month, Peter Taylor can still claim to be the best manager in the country - he's number 1 in the TISSOT Managers Performance League. The Tigers manager is just ahead of Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri and Manchester United chief Sir Alex Ferguson in the standings. (click here to see the MPL table)
