His side had a 100% record in December so today's announcement was inevitable. The Tigers won all five league games - including a 4-2 victory at Sheffield Wednesday which made City the Team of the Week on Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday - as well as the FA Cup tie against Macclesfield.

It's the first time he's won Manager of the Month in just over two years at the club, despite guiding the team to promotion in his first full season last year.

The last time a City manager won it was in February 2001, when Brian Little achieved five wins out of five.

Sheffield United's Neil Warnock and Yeovil's Gary Johnson were this month's winners in the Championship and League 2 respectively.
