Taylor Denies Rumours

Taylor revealed: "I have given things a lot of thought since Saturday and the more I think about it, just going out and signing players is not the answer."

21-year-old Boston forward Richard Logan had been linked with a transfer to City, and although admitting to previously being interested in the player, Taylor does not want him.

He said: "I can assure you Logan is not someone I'm looking to sign. I haven't spoken to him, or to Boston and I've no plans to either."

Logan is currently on loan to Peterborough, where he has scored twice in 12 games. He joined Boston in January on a free transfer from Ipswich after impressing in a loan spell, but has failed to make an impact since then.

Meanwhile, Preston manager Craig Brown has revealed that Tigers boss Taylor moved to sign goalkeeper David Lucas on loan, but the offer was rejected.

"Managers are phoning up for players. Hull City phoned up for the loan of Lucas last week but I couldn't let him go."

However, Taylor is understood to be in the market for a new goalkeeper, with an import from Europe rumoured to be on his way.
