Signings Unlikely

City were set to bring in Stephen Wright from Sunderland, but injury to the defender has put the move on hold. A loan deal may go through next month, but Brown says he "wouldn't build anyone's hopes up of players coming into the club before next week."

That news has put a stop to Sam Collins leaving. Hartlepool have made a bid but Brown can't let the centre back go until he brings in a replacement.

Will Atkinson has joined Mansfield on a month's loan. The midfielder has only made one appearance for City, and spent a four-game spell at Port Vale earlier in the season. Ben Wilkinson joins Scottish Premier League side Gretna on loan until the end of the season, when his City contract is due to expire.

Stuart Elliott, who rejected a move to Southend earlier in the month, has now turned down the chance to join Darlington.

There is also interest in Michael Bridges, with a loan move to an English lower league side likely.
