The Shaymen - now back in the Conference - have taken the 26-year-old on trial. He will train with them over pre-season.

Rowe was released by City at the end of the season when his contract ended. He now goes back to the Shay having previously played 10 games for them on loan in 1999.

The forward scored 8 goals in 38 appearances for City, but his 18-month stay was plagued by injury prompting Jan Molby to let him go at the end of the season.

Meanwhile Swindon Town have signed two ex-Tigers. David Norris, who scored once in six loan appearances for city last season, is set to join them on a year-long loan from Bolton. Goalkeeper Nick Baxter, who joined Manchester United as a teenager a few years ago before playing a single game for the Tigers' first team, has joined the Robins as well on a free transfer.

And another former Man. United and Hull City goalkeeper is also on the move. Nick Culkin, who had an enjoyable four-game loan spell at City 2½ years ago, is signing for QPR.
