The 26-year-old damaged ligaments in Saturday's 1-1 home draw with Norwich and will be sidelined for up to three weeks.
Rosenior, who has missed just three league games since joining on a free transfer from Reading in October, will miss games with Millwall and Watford but could return to face Swansea on April 12.
Meanwhile, fellow defender Paul McShane, on loan at Barnsley, has been ruled out of action for up to eight weeks due to a hamstring injury, but will remain at Oakwell.
